So, i finished this yesterday. The first thing that attracted me to this book was the fact that Sarah Ockler (author of twenty boy summer) wrote it, and then i looked at the cover and i was absolutely WOWED! It's just so adorable. I knew that I wanted to not only read it but i wanted to BUY IT so i could have it sit on my shelf forever and always after i read it because it's just so pretty! (that's the way i feel about The Carrie Diaries, too, which i haven't read yet, but will. - so stay tuned) Anyway, as i got into the story, it's not exactly groundbreaking, but I feel like i can relate to it in a lot of ways, and that's what made it more interesting for me. Delilah is a very good character because she's funny and seems to have an "i don't care" attitude, but when you get to know her you know she really DOES care and is an emotional creature underneath everything else. Another thing i liked about this book was the love story, actually, the multiple love stories woven into it. It was absolutely scrumptious. On the surface, it looks as though there is only one love story but really, there are about three. or four. You just have to look closely. There were a lot of plot twists and turns that i never expected and caused my jaw to drop down to the floor. Some things about this book got on my nerves though. One of those things, was that sometimes there was abuse of certain adjectives. Sometimes, this happens in books, and a lot of times, i don't even notice it, but in this book, i noticed that the phrase "chocolate brown" popped up a lot throughout and it got to be kind of a distraction. I know that might sound stupid, but it's true for me. Overall, this is a good book that is definitely worth your time. The cover alone is worth a second and third and 12345435356th glance. So check it out!
